When pirate captain Connor spots the perfect morsel of a ship on the horizon, he figures it’s his lucky day. His ship, the Wretched Lady, is in dire need of a little refurbishment after a long summer of waiting around outside the gates of Sanctuary, hoping to spring a comrade from its dungeons. The prize is perfect, alright, but not for the reasons he thinks.
Mild-mannered governess Regula never expected to be chased by a pirate ship, much less used as bait for said pirates. The ill-treatment isn’t to be borne, but perhaps the adventure (and one charming pirate captain) will prove more to her liking.

His head tilted as he spoke, his eyes locked on mine. I raced to recall everything I knew of their code. Did he mean…? My heart sped up.
He was so close.

About the Author
Vermillion would be far happier on the deck of the Wretched Lady than sitting in front of her laptop in Los Angeles. Shiver Me is her debut novel, but she has plenty of fantastical tales with charming bisexual characters up her sleeve. When she’s not scheming over a story, you’re just as likely to find her on a walk in a gnarled wood as in a dark bar with a book in her hand.
